About

Mission Statement

A project supported by Columbia University’s Community Scholars Program, The Center for Nonfiction connects publishing industry veterans to academics, students, and authors based in Harlem and Washington Heights. Through mentorship and materials, the Center provides insight into how to select topics, structure book proposals, craft samples and anticipate needs of agents, editors, publishers, and readers.
